DevDosh Ltd : Keep Calm & Carry On
The Coronavirus situation is having a serious effect on the world. Many many people seem to be taking evasive action from the threat. Many more seem to be being contained by government reaction to the threat.
DevDosh Ltd would like to send our deepest and most heat felt sympathies to every individual touched by the virus.
For those still clear of symptoms it is solidly worth remembering the facts.
Coronavirus is flu. COVID-19 is a novel strain of Coronavirus that the world does not know how to control at the moment. Coronavirus strains like COVID-19 also caused the MERS and SARS outbreaks that were brought under control.
The symptoms of COVID-19 are, coughing, shortness of breath and fever. Those with weak immune symptoms such as the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions are developing pneumonia. Some of those individuals are tragically dying.
The death rate probability factors according to the website worldometers for patients diagnosed with COVOD-19 is heavily skewed towards the elderly
Death Rate by Age
- 80+ years old – 14.8%
- 70-79 years old – 8.0%
- 60-69 years old – 3.6%
- 50-59 years old – 1.3%
- 40-49 years old – 0.4%
- 30-39 years old – 0.2%
- 20-29 years old – 0.2%
- 10-19 years old – 0.2%
- 0-9 years old – no fatalities
and those with pre-existing conditions
COVID-19 mortality rate by COMORBIDITY
- Cardiovascular disease – 10.5%
- Diabetes – 7.3%
- Chronic Respiratory Disease – 6.3%
- Hypertension – 6%
- Cancer – 5.6%
- No pre-existing conditions – 0.9%
What the above clearly illustrates is that if you are not old and unhealthy COVID-19 represents little more than flu. Clearly a flu that you do not want to be taking around your elderly parents or grandparents but not a flu that should be making you hide our in your basement.
Panic buying and disengaging from everyday life is not necessary for the vast majority of the public.
I normally finish off my articles with a short paragraph about DevDosh Ltd and how great we are. That isn’t appropriate for this article. For those that read our output regularly you know that a lot of what we do is to present information so that you can make up your own mind. Please, do the same with COVID-19
